CHORDS Just Got a WHOLE LOT EASIER [when you just do this]

If you are struggling to form chords, muting other strings, thudding and buzzing, then I recommend taking this lesson on “Body Positioning” and How to hold a Guitar. 90% of the time a beginner student who encounters chords or fingering issues are not arching their fingers correctly. This can be caused by a lot of things. In this video, we go over 8 tips or “rules” as I call them, to get your fingers arched and in the correct position for clear noting. You may be very surprised with what I will tell you in this video!

In the into, I talked about the new course “3 Chords, 1 Fingerpicking Pattern.”  If you are interested, here’s some more info about that free course:

3 Chords, 1 Fingerpicking Pattern

Here’s a course that is going to help you learn a very popular 3/4 time (or waltz time) fingerpicking pattern along with the chords G, C and D. These 3 chords are the most used in all guitar music and if you play guitar (which I know you are doing) you can’t avoid playing any of these 3 chords!

Why G, C and D?

For starters, it’s a very major sounding group of chords that are the most popular combinations called  the 1, 4 and 5 chords… (lost you there?). Well this is why I’m hoping you’ll take this free course and join my VIP guitar group. Here’s the signup sheet below. Also, when you are a member of my group, you get free help from me as well as access to a lot of other material and coaching.

I am not young, got short fingers, and just start to learn guitar, Your teaching method makes me feel I can play it. Thank you very much.

Hi Kimsa, great to hear from you and thank you for taking the lesson. This is classical style posturing which is a lot easier for beginners to form chords and the correct way to hold the guitar. After a while and when your fingers get used to arching and positioning of your hand is good, you will be able to ease off of some of the “rules” but, many people will still get used to this and stay this way.. All the best and glad you are playing… you can definitely do this!!! bob

  2. Hi Rob, 60 yer old 6 month into learning guitar, been a roller coaster , good days bad days, struggling with clean cords and cord progression, any videos that you can point to would be appreciated.

Hey Vic, we got a few things in common. I’m 60 and 6 months as well plus we are both playing guitar! I don’t know if you are into fingerstyle, but if so, the beginner courses I have are very easy on the left chording hand. With fingerstyle, you don’t have to form the full chords because we can omit the notes that are not in the chord. It is an easier way to start playing quickly. Let me know if you want me to add you to my guitar vip group and I can send you some courses. Everything is free. Thanks Vic- bob

Wishing you and your family a healthy 2023.
