Here’s two of the real deals of the blues- John Lee Hooker & Furry Lewis –

The video is cool because it gives some background on these two legends.

Johnny Lee Hooker is pretty much a legendary figure in the history books for blues. But I wasn’t that familiar with Furry Lewis and in his section of the video, we really get to here him do pretty much a whole set of music.

I don’t mean to give Johnny the slip, but if you want to fast forward to Furry Lewis, he is at about 19:10. For starters he’s on acoustic (that’s a good thing) but one other thing I couldn’t help notice is the similarity between Furry and Ray Charles… You got to wonder if Ray was influenced by him?

Lots of interesting moves on guitar throughout including slide guitar work as well.
