  • Andrew Deevey: Beatles on Acoustic- Eleanor Rigby

Here’s guitarist Andrew Deevey with Eleanor Rigby, done Acoustic fingerstyle! This is one song from an album he recorded of 14 Beatles tunes entitled ”While My (Acoustic) Guitar Gently Weeps.” This video is quite an impressive production, which was filmed in Liverpool and Isleworth, close to Twickenham studios where the Beatles filmed a Hard Days Night. Really nice guitar playing and I already love the songs! Andrew’s Bio: Andy is an experienced guitarist and guitar teacher based in SW London. A qualified guitar tutor up […]

  • Buster B. Jones: “LE MACHINE GUN”

Buster B. Jones: “LE MACHINE GUN”

Buster B. Jones: Le Machine Gun You need to watch this whole video because it’s probably one of the most impressive displays of fingerpicking that you will ever see. Is he as good as his mentors Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed? Well, you be the judge. Buster has incorporated all of their styles into his-  the result is a hybrid style that additionally features much faster melodic runs and riffs than his mentors. He says that the speed thing happened […]

  • Tony Yardley: Shoopy’s Blues

Here’s a real nice and easy song called  ”Shoopy’s Blues” by fingerstyle guitarist Tony Yardley. I really like this! And the sound, film and production is first rate, not to mention the performance by his supporting cast which is solid and tasteful. Tony only has about 200 or so views on YouTube….  I think he deserves more than that… let’s help him out by sharing and liking this video. Accompanying Tony is Randy Wood (percussion), Rick Goodwin (bass) and Lloyd Andrews (dobro). […]

  • Phil Keaggy: A Little Piece of “Here Comes the Sun”

You know, I see a lot of people do these pop cover songs on acoustic and get a bizillion YouTube hits out of it. “Here Comes the Sun” performed here by Phil Keaggy doesn’t look so planned out however.  In fact, it almost seems that someone was requesting it out of the audience,  and he just played a little of it. This concert was filmed in  Castro Valley. Ca. 2002 Thanks again to Dusk Wings for making me aware of this […]

  • Caleb Hawley: Can’t Make The Cut, American Idol Audition

My friend Bruce Jepson asked me if I could post a Caleb Hawley vid… Well yes, of course Bruce and thanks for the request. This guy is not only an excellent singer but a fine guitarist as well. In fact, there’s not too many out there better. So when I went to look for a vid to post, I found that there’s a bunch of Caleb Hawley videos…. perhaps this is not the best one. But it was entertaining. This […]

  • Jacques Stotzem : It’s All In The Hands

Here’s a guitarist that a friend of mine (who didn’t want his name mentioned) recommended.. Check out Jacques Stotzem, with a song called “Simple Pleasure.” I noticed some of the comments over at YouTube asking Jacques what kind of amplification he is using…. It sure sounds great!!! Well, Jacques  wrote in and said he was using a Fishman Ellipse blend. But truthfully, I don’t consider the amplification to be the ultimate factor when it comes to good tone (although it helps). “It’s all […]

  • Kelly Valleau Fingerpicks Lithium By Nirvana

Here’s a new song by fingerstyle guitarist Kelley Valleau that was posted on YouTube just a couple of weeks ago. It’s the song “Lithium” originally released  by Nirvana back in 1991… you know, the band with Kurt Cobain out of Seattle.  Kurt actually wrote this song. I first heard of  Kelly Valleau from watching his CandyRat Records video . Nice to see a new vid by this great guitarist! The setting is most likely Kelly’s studio. He’s getting a great sound out […]

  • Chet Atkins & Mark Knopfler: A Great Match

This from YouTube: “Mark Knopfler and Chet Atkins play “I’ll see you in my dreams” and “Imagine” live at Secret Policeman’s Third Ball 1987.”  link This is an enjoyable video in that Mark Knopfler and Chet Atkins both have that easy going feel to their playing. Yea, hot licks and stuff, but they’re playing music and not trying to blow the other one away. In Mark’s case, a lot of it has to do with the respect he obviously has […]

  • Vince Serrioz- “Kiva Dance” From His CD “Years With No Tears”

Fingerstyle guitarist Vince Serrioz wrote into our facebook site and posted this video of a song entitled “Kiva Dance” which is also featured on his latest CD entitled “Years With No Tears.” Vince doesn’t play in the new style that has all the fancy harmonics, tapping and percussion on the guitar. This is just strait ahead fingerpicking and done very well. And you know what? It’s refreshing! Now I’ve been talking to a few of my friends who agree that […]

  • Smokin’ Joe Robinson – Tommy Emmanual’s Protegee’

If you close your eyes and listen to Smokin’ Joe Robinson, you might think that it’s Tommy Emmanuel. Well, it’s not, it’s his protegee’ Smokin’ Joe Robinson. We’ve featured Smokin’ Joe and Tommy here together at Acoustic Guitar Videos, and the response was extraordinary. This particular song is called Midnight In Nashville which is an original composition of his. Check out some of his harmonic work on this song- he’s so smooth and his timing is just so solid. “Smokin’ […]

  • Stefan Grossman – Glory of Love

When you go into the dictionary and look up the term “fingerpicking,” there is a photo of Stefan Grossman next to it… well, no I made that up. But, when I think of fingerpicking, I’ve always considered Stefan to be one of the best. Stefan, who has a musical history a mile long, is one of those guitarist that has always specialized in playing the melody.  And with all of the fancy tapping and intricacies, guitars as drums etc, it’s nice […]

  • Michele Lideo- Musicoliere

I always love finding new and super talented guitarists and Michele Lideo is no exception. But I shouldn’t say I found him cause truth be told, he found us at our facebook page. Excellent fingerpickin’ guitar! Now one of the problems here is I have searched and can’t find any background on Michele Lideo,  The YouTube description only says this: “An original composition written by Michele Lideo and played with a custom Lukas Milani Guitar.” Here’s what I have derived from […]

  • Dominic Frasca; Someone’s Gonna Get Hurt

Dominic Frasca. Here’s guitar playing that doesn’t sound human. I mean is this for real? Obviously is doing a lot of crazy things like putting pieces of wood on his guitar to using a C clamp as a capo holding  down 2 strings. This is a compilation of a bunch of vids. Truthfully, I had to watch this a few times. What a monster player.  Perhaps one of the most unique styles I’ve ever heard. Dominic currently lives in New York […]
