Emma McGann : New Year’s Eve Kiss

One of the smartest things to do as a songwriter is write a seasonal song..

Hey, every year it comes back… and if it wasn’t something that took off at first, perhaps with some better press and a little luck things can change for the next year.

Now I don’t know if this is what singer/songwriter Emma McGann is thinking here, but  this is a nice production that is more acoustic and something I thought a lot of you would enjoy this year. And it’ not a Christmas song…. New Years… Seems I can only remember one New Year’s song (starts with the word Auld)

Here’s what Emma said about the song on the YouTube description:

“Here’s my latest track, ‘NYE Kiss’… let me know what you think in the comments!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you guys!

‘NYE Kiss’ Lyrics

V1
Here come the cards and caroling
I haven’t wrapped a single thing
My mind’s escaped away from me
No turtle doves or Santa Claus
It isn’t what I’m thinking of
Tired of the same old novelty

PRE-CHORUS
Instead I’m waiting for the start of something new
Keep my resolution just for you
Drinking down whatever feels more fun
Counting down 3… 2… 1…

CHORUS
Maybe this could be our year
Can’t believe you’re standing here
So dance with your hands on my hips
Can you read what’s on my lips
Promise when the countdown comes
I’ll be right there in your arms
I’ve waited so long for this
You’re gonna be my New Year’s Eve kiss

V2
I’m saving up my mistletoe
I’ll use it when I really know
When I know I’ve found everything
I’ll skip ahead to NYE
Because I know that’s where you’ll be
Meet me at midnight when they sing

PRE-CHORUS
We’re waiting for the start of something new
Keep my resolution just for you
Drinking down whatever feels more fun
Counting down… 3… 2… 1…

CHORUS
Maybe this could be our year
Can’t believe you’re standing here
So dance with your hands on my hips
Can you read what’s on my lips
Promise when the countdown comes
I’ll be right there in your arms
I’ve waited so long for this
You’re gonna be my New Year’s Eve kiss

MIDDLE 8
It’s like there’s butterflies under my skin
Let’s show them how to see the new year in

CHORUS”
