Mark O’Connor and Chet Atkins – “Nashville Now”

Here’s Mark O’Connor along with Chet Atkins back in 1983 on Ralph Emery’s “Nashville Now” TV show.

If you think back to how long ago that was, Mark couldn’t have been more than 20.. and how bout  Chet  (looks so young).

Back then, the acoustic guitar plug in choice was an Ovation, as most of the acoustic guitars out there didn’t come with a built in pickup.  Ovations were not only good for amplification but, the action on those guitars were very easy to play- so if you were an electric guitarist you would have no problem getting around on it.

At that time, Mark was getting a lot of acclaim on both guitar and fiddle, as a lot of notables such as Chet were taking Mark under their wing.
