Tony Rice – This is a “Few Of My Favorite Things”

When the Tony Rice Unit records came out, I thought…

well, this seems to be a spin off of David Grisman’s Dawg music, only with Tony being the headliner.

Well, not quite, but the music was just about the best thing I had ever heard.

This particular video was filmed at the Berkshire Mountain Bluegrass Festival “20 some odd years ago” with Tony’s younger brother Wyatt on second guitar and bassist Mark Schatz.

I believe the first of Tony’s jazzgrass Cd’s was Acoustics.

I could be wrong so please let me know if I’m off with this!

But I quickly went out and bought it and was so impressed and wore it right out. If you haven’t heard it, I strongly recommend it.

Another album entitled “Mar West” was a tremendous follow up that I also highly recommend.

but if you haven’t heard this stuff and like the jazzy guitar style along with the drive of bluegrass, these are must listen to CD’s!
