Doc Chet and Leo Kottke- Just Having Fun

Here’s Doc, Chet and a young Leo Kottke pickin the Last Steam Engine Train, obviously backstage somewhere unspecified.

Doc’s guitar could make a funeral into a happy occasion, his warmth and banter with his fellow musicians is always something you could look forward to at any of his shows.

Kind of what’s cool about this video is watching Chet Atkins, who seems to go out of his element by playing Les Paul style licks instead of what we would normally have heard him play. This might be due to the recording he was doing with Les around that time period that I actually became indirectly involved with (more on this at another time…)
