Ben Lapps Plays “Squaredance”

Ohio guitarist Ben Lapps has been featured before… no doubt.

check it out right here

This video and this live “setting up the sound for another band” stage performance happens to be from the same show. I was thrilled to find this video of course.

Whether or not you like tapping guitar, it’s difficult for me to say that I’ve heard another player in this  style with as much chops as Ben Lapps.  I personally think the whole point of tapping guitar  is to be able to note faster, since you are able to use both hands.

“Squaredance” which was written by one of Ben early hero’s Justin King, is a perfect workout for showing off the blazing fast notes. And standing on that stage with all of the distractions, Ben has nerves of steel. He kind of reminds me (and looks like) a young Mark O’Connor when Mark was winning all those championships for fiddle and guitar… (I think Mark was 12 when he won the National Flatpicking Competition.

There’s more to come from Ben… he did get older… and he will be featured here in more posts!

Give Ben a LIKE here and SHARE if you are digging what he’s doing…
