Al Di Meola: Layers of Tones

Egyptian Danza (Live) by Al Di Meola is an example of what can be done to electronically alter the tone of the acoustic guitar. At the time (2007) the state of the art guitar synth was the GK-2, can hear it producing the string sounds behind his guitar. He’s getting a fairly good electric distoto sound coming from one of the pedals on the floor. People that hear these sounds today might think this is outdated but, back then it was amazing to hear a guitar with such variation of tone.

Al kicks ass, Les Paul told me that Al was one of his favorite guitarist. By the way, does anyone still play an Ovation?
