Eric Johnson: Acoustic Tribute To Jerry Reed

Here’s guitarist Eric Johnson performing live in Austin Texas back in 1984 with a tribute to Jerry Reed.

For those of you unfamiliar with Eric, Guitar Player magazine said that Johnson was “one of the most respected guitarists on the planet.”

With albums like “Ah Via Musicom” going platinum in 1990, Eric is one of the most popular selling guitarist who has also won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.

For this particular video, Eric goes acoustic and does a fine job of it. But I don’t think Eric’s performance was intended as an imitation to Jerry Reed’s playing, rather a tribute in Eric’s version of Jerry.
