John Lennon and George Harrison: Recording Session 1971

This video is from 1971 of John Lennon and George Harrison recording “Oh My Love.”

Just shortly after the song starts, we get to see a little interview with John and Yoko talking about love and sex (perfect huh).

After the interview, the video cuts to the actual session instead of the rehearsal.

During the first verse or so, the song stops…. you’ll get to hear John cursing out the engineer for changing reels during the take. (For those of you that don’t know, when the tape runs out, there’s no more recording so, perhaps it was necessary?).

This is certainly not one of my favorite songs by John or George but does give  a little view on what their studio sessions were like…. certainly different than many of the studio sessions today where the musicians record all their parts separately.
